Living in rhythm with the female biology

What a fortune to have learned how to sync — food, exercise, social life, work, activities, travels, and relaxation — with my menstrual cycle. I am 38, and due to a sick leave, I fairly recently realized how my female biology affects me in time and space. More significantly, how it vastly differs from the 24-hour male cycle characterizing the everyday rhythm and expectations of our society. It has been an insightful journey, one as inspirational as socially challenging, since it is not really common to cater daily life to the needs of our infradian rhythm. Nonetheless, it has been an important one to do, such as to truly come to appreciate my womanhood and to finally be free from 26 years of eating disorders.

Given the normative state of our male-dominated society — where even advertisements for menstrual protection advocates our energy level to be the same, even in times of vital rest — it is not yet accepted to postpone meetings or push forward deadlines to accommodate individual female cycles. It is, however, time to take care of our own wellbeing and to provide ourselves with the best opportunities to thrive each day, whether we are ovulating, menstruating, or being in the phases in between.  

Femessere is a platform under creation to support a loving life in balance with the female rhythm. The name is a play on the Italian word benessere, which means wellbeing, and joined with the english female, it reflects the mission well. It is with a focus on our female biology and individual cyclical needs that I am in the process of developing inspiring workshops, digital courses, coaching material, meditations, recipes, retreats, hormone yinyoga sessions, and more for living aligned, being well, and vibing high.
