Anthropologist // Multimodal Ethnographer // Sensory Scholar // Menstrual Health Researcher
Welcome — I’m glad you’ve found your way here.
I originally created this space to share experiences from my PhD research on olive culture in Italy. It has since grown into a place for unfolding new curiosities — most recently, a deepening engagement with the lived complexities of menstrual health.
I’m a curious, creative, and engaged anthropologist specializing in sensory and multimodal ethnography. My academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in Textile Development from FIT in New York, and more recently, I earned a doctorate in Social Anthropology from Stockholm University. My PhD thesis was one of the first multimodal dissertations defended at the university, and I’m proud to have contributed to expanding the boundaries of academic practice, even as text-based research remains the norm.
I am currently developing a postdoctoral research project examining menstrual health across biomedical, holistic, and wellness contexts, with a particular interest in sensory and multimodal approaches. In addition to my academic qualifications, I hold certification in menstrual health coaching and have completed 100 hours of hormone yin yoga training. While this training shapes my interest in embodied and holistic approaches to care, the research is conducted exclusively in my role as an academic researcher and does not constitute coaching, instruction, or therapeutic practice.
