Garden Gathering
We had a splendid garden gathering with friends the other night! I did not have too much time to cook and embellish the setting, but wanted to have them, so I made it an easy family-style wine and dine with some aperitivo followed by my renowned lasagna verde.
My lasagna verde is a go-to for a successful dinner. I know it by heart and enjoy how people always become surprised by how delicious it is. It is all plant-based, made with love for the environment and by a passionate chef. Those are the secrets to the recipe, however, the fact that I let it sit for a day may play part, too.
Lovely enough, my beet hummus also made its way into everyone’s heart — almost to the point that it triumphed my regular hummus, which is a well known delight among our friends from previous gatherings. Black pepper is what makes the beet hummus so tasty, alongside the fact that I use freshly harvested beets from our neighbor’s garden. He’s the kindest to let me harvest whatever I want from his orto (vegetable garden) until we have ours up and running. Considering that we have quite a busy fall, I guess it will take until next year. But you know what they say (at least in Sweden), the one waiting for something good, never waits too long :)
With Love,
Elin
